Alan Michael Kidwell-Horne LLB (Hons)
Owner of the Kidwells Group
Alan Michael, commonly known as Michael, has a leading role in all areas at Kidwells as its Founder. He is also the Founder of Kidwells Group of companies, which encompasses our sister companies such as Kidwells Guest House, Kidwells Solicitors, Kidwells Rated, and Kidwells Loans.
Michael achieved his degree and Legal Practice Course at the Derby and Wolverhampton Universities, qualifying in 2006. Before founding Kidwells Solicitors, he worked at several law firms across Hereford and the Midlands and spent 12 months working with barristers gaining insight into serious crime and immigration.
Above all, Michael’s background in business gives him a unique perspective.
Michael’s biggest passion outside of Kidwells is sailing. He is a qualified Ocean Yacht Master, on top of being a qualified pilot, skydiver, and sea diver, and many other qualifications, skill, and experiences that he will gladly share with you. Not least of all, owning a firm and driving lorries delivering goods all around Europe. Michael understands the requirements of businesses of all kinds, so wherever you are in your business you can feel confident that Michael has faced the same challenges and triumphs personally, and come out of it successfully.
Michael Horne is the founder and owner of the Kidwells group of companies, including Kidwells Solicitors, Kidwells Loans, Kidwells Accountancy, and Kidwells Rated. He is Managing Director of Kidwells Solicitors, Kidwells Loans, and Kidwells Rated.
Andrew Robinson ACA
Director
Andy Robinson, ACA, has over 25 years of experience as an accountant. More notably, Andy has over 10 years of experience in the financial management of small to medium-sized businesses, including developing plans to improve their performance.
When you need a sound financial strategy, Andy can help. His wide range of experience means not only is he great with numbers, he’ll help you make great decisions with them, too.
Emily Horne AATQB
Director
Emily Horne, AATQB has worked within accounts for several years, she’s currently part qualified ACCA.
Emily will be your first point of call when contacting the business. She will help you identify your business needs with her wide range of experience, from working in internal financial controls to bookkeeping for clients, as well as the preparation of accounts.
Emily is passionate about team development and the growth of the Kidwells Group. In her spare time, she enjoys playing netball, riding horses and socialising with her friends and family.
Sarah Laight
Business Support Director
Sarah joined the Board of Directors in 2021. Her position at Kidwells evolved from secretary to support staff manager, and now to Business Support Director across the Kidwells Group. Her meticulous eye for detail is key to making sure the team is organised, support staff are trained, and clients and third parties are updated.
Her free time is spent enjoying family, friends, and fashion.
Marcus Potts
Finance Supervisor
Marcus joined the team in 2022 having worked for four years studying accountancy and operating in finance.
In his spare time, Marcus enjoys playing football and going out with his friends and family.
Sam Bayliss
Chartered Accountant
Sam is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. Having trained in a medium-sized accountancy practice and worked in industry for a number of years, Sam understands the inner workings of a business, whilst having a technical focus and a wide knowledge of tax. This gives him a unique wealth of experience with which to guide and advise businesses with all their financial requirements.
Outside of accountancy, Sam is a part-time professional musician, including as a member of Hereford Cathedral Choir, has 2 children, and plays squash whenever he can find the time!
Hayleigh Worwood
Bookkeeper
Hayleigh joined the team in 2022 and is AAT Level 2 qualified and working towards Level 3.
In her free time, Hayleigh enjoys hiking, canoeing and learning about different countries and cultures.
Megan Boyles
Finance Assistant
Megan joined the team in 2023.

Lorna Murphy
Marketing Manager
Lorna joined the Kidwells team in 2021 and has been working in the industry since finishing university in 2018. She completed her degree at Hereford College of Arts, where she gained a BA (Hons) in Graphic & Media Design. Lorna initially specialised in Graphic Design, but then moved into a Marketing role and proceeded to explore other areas.
Outside of work, Lorna loves to attend music festivals and events. She also enjoys going on walks with her dog, Luna, paddleboarding, and going to the beach.

Caroline Simpson
Marketing & Business Assistant
Caroline joined Kidwells Solicitors in 2011 in business support and joined the marketing team a year later. She has 30 years experience in design, publishing and marketing having worked for several local newspaper and magazine publications. She joined the Rated team in 2021 marketing across the Kidwells Group.
In her spare time Caroline enjoys long distance walking, travel at home and abroad, a good book and meeting up with family and friends dotted around the country.

Sophie Potts
Sales Executive
Sophie joined the Kidwells Rated team in July 2022 as Sales Executive.
In her spare time Sophie loves spending time with family and friends, attending events and shows and enjoying the countryside.
She has a bubbly personality and enjoys getting to know new people and making the most out of life.

Hannah Shurey
Social Media Executive
Hannah joined the Kidwells Rated team in August 2022 as a Social Media Executive.
Having previously gained experience in social media running a community page for mental health, Hannah is keen for new challenges.
In her spare time, Hannah loves to explore the local countryside, meet with family and friends, practice yoga and play video games.

William Nicholas
Digital Marketing Apprentice
William joined the Kidwells Rated team in 2022 as a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship.
He studied at Hereford Sixth Form College earning distinctions in Computer Games and Cyber Security and the Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Engineering.
William uses his free time to meet and talk with friends, video games and Motorcross.
